Customer service reps at American, UA roam terminals with handhelds

In an effort to reduce congestion at counters, American Airlines has expanded a program started at Boston Logan airport in July, in which employees with handheld mobile devices roam through terminals to help passengers get flight information, access standby lists and check bags. The program has been expanded to Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and New York JFK, and United Airlines has launched a similar program.
