CMS posts final decision memo for PET

On Thursday, March 7, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services posted its final decision memo for PET. This reconsideration followed a letter from the Medical Imaging Technology Alliance requesting that CMS remove the current non-coverage language for new PET radiopharmaceuticals that receive approval from the Food and Drug Administration. CMS will allow local coverage options for oncologic indications of FDA-approved PET tracers after Sept. 1, 2013.
