Rep. Thompson urges TSA to reconsider lifting ban on small knives

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, said the Transportation Security Administration should get more input before allowing small knives to be carried on planes. "I am very concerned by TSA's decision to modify its prohibited items list and allow knives and other carry-ons that can be used as weapons through airport security," Thompson said in a statement.
