Level 3 brings dial-up business back in-house

Level 3 Communications has agreed to pay Allegiance $54 million to end a contract that had Allegiance hosting hundreds of thousands of managed-modem ports for Level 3 dial-up customers. The contract was passed on to Level 3 when it acquired Genuity in 2002.
