Coal plant construction projects canceled across U.S.

Companies across the U.S. are canceling plans for coal-fired power plant projects due to environmental problems, soaring construction costs and local opposition. Companies in Montana, Iowa and Nevada recently shelved plans for coal-fired plants. An estimated 600 coal plants still provide about half of the nation's electricity.
