Doctors treat joint injuries with platelet-rich plasma

A new treatment for healing tissue in patients with ankle or other joint injuries is quickly becoming a safer and easier alternative to surgery. The treatment is called platelet-rich plasma and involves taking platelet cells from the patient's blood and then injecting the cells into the patient's injured tissue.
