Dinneen: Big Oil's resistance to E15 pushing up RIN prices

The soaring price of ethanol renewable identification numbers is likely due to a perception that the ethanol blend wall is crimping the supply of RINs, some analysts and oil industry representatives said. "I think there's a lot of speculative pressure" behind the spike in RIN prices, said Philadelphia Energy Solutions CEO Phil Rinaldi. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen states that the oil industry is partly responsible for the blend wall because of oil companies' resistance to E15 and higher blends.
