Martial arts expands learning in Calif. immersion program

Students in a California dual immersion program for Mandarin are learning more than how to speak another language. Students are getting a lesson in culture from a local Chinese martial artist who is slated to visit the class a few times this spring. "I wanted to expand students' understanding of Chinese culture and invigorate their interest in learning the language," teacher Denise Long said.
