Qualcomm may find silver lining in ill-fated FloTV

Qualcomm believes it can salvage the Long-Term Evolution-based technology used in the chipmaker's failed FloTV mobile broadcast effort to create a system that could enable telecoms to provide video and other high-quality content to subscribers more efficiently. The technology could provide Qualcomm with another outlet to sell chips but also allow telecoms to deliver similar content to multiple subscribers through the LTE broadcast system.
