Astronomers say pre-Big Bang star is oldest ever dated

A group of astronomers is closer to determining the age of one of the oldest stars in the universe, finding it was formed as many as 14.5 billion years ago. That means it could be older than the estimated age of the universe. The age of the "Methuselah star," which was discovered decades ago and continues to confound scientists with its seemingly pre-Big Bang age, was deciphered using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
