Judge rules against NYC soft drink restrictions

A law that would restrict the size of soft drinks sold in New York City has been struck down by New York state Supreme Court Judge Milton Tingling. In his ruling, Tingling said the law is "fraught with arbitrary and capricious consequences," with different rules for different kinds of establishments. ABA spokesman Christopher Gindlesperger said the ruling "provides a sigh of relief," and "with this ruling behind us, we look forward to collaborating with city leaders on solutions that will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the people of New York City."
