ST-Ericsson CEO will leave company at end of March

Didier Lamouche, CEO of ST-Ericsson, has resigned, effective at the end of the month, as the chip-making joint venture's future remains up in the air. STMicroelectronics plans to withdraw from ownership in the company, and it is unclear what Ericsson will do with it. "The CEO leaving helps pave the way for action to happen at ST-Ericsson," said Hannu Rauhala of Pohjola Bank Oyj. He added, "A Chinese company may be interested in the venture to help build their own chip business for their own phones or tablets. Buying ST-Ericsson would be an easy way to do it."
