State legislator pushes for e-cigarettes regulation in Utah

A tobacco regulation was proposed in Utah that aims to implement the same tax rates for electronic cigarettes and regular cigarettes. While other state legislatures are mulling how to regulate electronic cigarettes, Utah is the first to propose taxing them like tobacco. Electronic cigarettes should not be offered as nicotine replacement therapy, since the devices have not received approval from the FDA, said Utah Rep. Paul Ray, who sponsored the legislation.
