Study: Few plans currently offer full range of ACA-required benefits

An analysis finds that many health plans on the market do not offer coverage that complies with the essential health benefits to be required under the Affordable Care Act. However, basic benefits such as doctor visits, hospitalization and emergency care are offered in almost all plans studied, and as health plans expand policies to comply with ACA requirements, AHIP spokesman Robert Zirkelbach notes that, "anytime you add benefits to a policy, it adds to the cost of health care coverage."
