U.K. group urges end to prescription charges for long-term conditions

A coalition of more than 20 U.K. health organizations has called for the elimination of prescription drug payments by patients with long-term conditions. In its survey, the Prescription Charges Coalition found significant percentages of patients who didn't take their medicines as prescribed because of cost. The coalition also charged that criteria for being exempt from prescription charges are out of date and unfair.
