Wyo. agrees to lower property appraisal of wind farm

The Wyoming Department of Revenue has agreed to lower the estimated property value of Duke Energy's Top of the Wind wind farm to $296.9 million, down from its original assessment of $414.7 million. Despite the smaller revenue for the county, the new appraisal is still higher than a previous estimate by the project's contractor, said Tammie McGee, a communications manager at Duke Energy.
