Basel Committee plans to reconsider banks' liquidity rules

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision is scheduled to meet this month to consider tweaking draft liquidity rules for banks. Governments and banks have criticised the rules as a potential threat to growth. AFME said the liquidity-coverage ratio might make it more difficult for banks to spread risk and could force them to curtail lending.
