Researchers: Stem cells could protect against blindness

Researchers at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland are exploring the use of collagen-based biomaterials combined with stem cells to repair tissues. They are working on a transparent collagen scaffold that can be embedded with limbal stem cells to protect the cornea and help regrow the corneal surface.
