Rising divorce rate among pre-retirees challenges advisers

The divorce rate among people ages 48 to 66 has increased by more than 50% over the past two decades, U.S. Census Bureau data show. That presents challenges to advisers who must help clients deal with reduced assets as they retire, say experts, who offer strategies advisers can use when their married clients are splitting up.
