FCC official: Spectrum auction limits could shortchange FirstNet

Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Ajit Pai said spectrum auctions might not raise enough money to pay for the build-out of the FirstNet interoperable broadband public safety network. His prepared testimony for a Senate Commerce Committee hearing on FCC oversight said limiting participants and pricing by broadcasters might lead to less participation in auctions and lower revenue.
