Apple is pondering whether to parcel out fabrication orders for its forthcoming A7 processor to three foundry sources, DigiTimes reports, citing institutional investors. Samsung Electronics would get half of the orders, while Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing would get 40% and Intel would receive 10%, those investors said. Meanwhile, the A5 processor inside the pending Apple TV box is apparently fabricated by Samsung with a 32-nanometer process, according to a teardown conducted by Chipworks.
