Joint statement from NDHI sets forth principles for industry/provider collaborations

At a Capitol Hill briefing yesterday, the National Dialogue for Healthcare Innovation (NDHI) issued a joint statement calling for industry to keep four principles in mind when collaborating with physicians and researchers. These principles, developed in the wake of the Physician Payments Sunshine Act final rule, will guide industry in these collaborations and “maintain the confidence and trust of all participants in our healthcare system,” according to the NDHI, which contends that these relationships have “been at the heart of most of the advances in U.S. healthcare over the past several decades.” Coalition for Healthcare Communication John Kamp remarked that “in the midst of all the concerns about conflict of interest, the Coalition is proud to support this effort to highlight the value of industry partnerships.” Read more.
