Penney's CEO: Focus in on the customer

J.C. Penney went upscale last week with a pop-up shop designed to tout its collaboration with Canadian apparel brand Joe Fresh. CEO Ron Johnson acknowledged early missteps in his turnaround strategy, but said he's focused on moving forward with the chain's efforts to bring business back to the stores. "The business backdrop is interesting, but my focus is totally on the customer. That's where I need to spend my time."
