Study: PTSD patients show higher metabolic syndrome rates

Data on 207,954 VA patients showed those with PTSD had greater incidence of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome compared with those who did not have a PTSD diagnosis. "This is a disorder that needs to be looked at and treated as a public health problem," said Dr. Ramin Ebrahimi, who discussed the findings at the American College of Cardiology meeting.
