Women are at the helm at major defense firms

As the defense industry is being forced to navigate difficult fiscal times, women are increasingly being named to leadership positions in those companies. Women are in positions of leadership at Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and General Dynamics and although the industry remains male-dominated, the rise of female executives means "it's a chance for all of us ... to make an imprint on an industry," said Linda Hudson, the chief executive of the American branch of BAE.
