Nokia Siemens lands Brasil Telecom contract

Nokia Siemens Networks will build the optical-networking backbone for Brasil Telecom GlobeNet's aggressive expansion plans across North America, with the Brazilian company's using Nokia's SURPASS hiT 7300 Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing platform. Eventually, NSN will connect South Florida to Brasil Telecom's underwater fiber-optic network that now stretches from the U.S. East Coast to Bermuda, Brazil and Venezuela.
