India aims to stop unethical practices in drug marketing

India's Department of Pharmaceuticals is considering adopting a uniform code that would address "unethical marketing practices," said Srikant Kumar Jena, minister of state for chemicals and fertilizers. He was responding to media reports accusing drugmakers of luring physicians to "prescribe costly and unwanted drugs."
