Study finds dietary patterns based on region, age, race

Blacks were more likely than whites to eat diets high in fried foods, processed meats and sugary drinks, while whites ate a pattern of more takeout and prepared foods or more sweet snacks and desserts, according to a study presented at an American Heart Association meeting. Researchers also found younger people and people in higher socioeconomic strata tend to have a diet pattern heavier in salads and proteins as well as alcohol.
