The website, HealthTeacher -- which contains more than 300 health lesson plans -- is being used in school districts nationwide, including 34 in Mississippi. The site provides standard-based lessons, sorted by grade level. Education officials say the site provides useful resources for schools -- many of which lack certified health teachers. "Teachers are really enjoying it. They don't have to scramble (looking for lesson plans). It goes across the curriculum," said Michelle King, assistant superintendent of elementary schools for Jackson Public Schools.
