Bill paying via tablets is seen opening way for new banking services

Banking vendors should take note of the rapidly growing use of tablets for bill payments, with 20% of tablet owners expected to use their devices for such transactions in 2017, according to Juniper Research. "As adoption rates accelerate, mobile banking vendors should seek to develop enhanced service provisions that specifically exploit the tablet's greater capacity [than that available on smartphones]. Enabling more intricate action with its superior multi-touch functionality, vendors could for example, produce banks apps that utilize the tablet's larger screen to offer more detailed and interactive content such as bank statements," said Juniper senior analyst Nitin Bhas.
