The Illinois Senate Agriculture Committee heard testimony Tuesday on a bill that would shift a sales tax break from E10 to E15. The bill's main sponsor, Sen. John Sullivan, said it's time to start encouraging retailers to carry E15. Critics claim that using E15 can cause engine damage, but advocates say the biofuel underwent extensive testing before the Environmental Protection Agency approved its use in model years 2001 and later.
