Korean researchers come up with superfast RFIC

A research team at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology has developed a radio-frequency chip capable of receiving and transmitting data at 10 gigabits per second, using the 60 gigahertz waveband. "It is a key new technology that can greatly increase the competitiveness of the country's smartphones. The chip can also replace various cables that existing televisions require, which means it can be used not only in smartphones but also in other mobile devices, such as cameras," said Park Chull Soon, a professor at the institute.
