T-Mobile-MetroPCS merger clears FCC

The $24.8 billion merger of T-Mobile and MetroPCS has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. The wireless merger is the first such deal to win the support of broadcasters. NAB President Gordon Smith, in a letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, said the merger showed the private sector offered ways to address "purported spectrum challenges."
