Vt.'s Welch unveils bill to let HHS negotiate Medicare drug prices

Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt., and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., are sponsoring legislation calling for the HHS to negotiate the prices of Medicare drugs. The Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act could reduce spending by $156 billion over a decade, Welch said. "It's just plain common sense that the federal government should put its enormous purchasing power to work to get a better deal on Medicare prescription drugs," Welch said.
