How companies use database software to boost sales, service

AutoZone, Shutterstock and other companies are employing Big Data analytics and database software to improve their sales, Rachael King and Steven Rosenbush write. As AutoZone's Ron Griffin says, "We think this is the direction of the future." NuoDB provides the cloud-based database software that AutoZone uses. Database software had revenues of more than $1.2 billion in 2012, and that figure is expected to double by next year, research firm Wikibon says.
