Bond issues to finance convention center hotels stir debate

More U.S. cities are turning to bond issues to help finance big convention center hotels, but some opponents believe government-financed hotel projects may just add to hotel-room glut. "Thousand-room hotels are becoming industry standards, not just in large cities but in some of the mid-tier cities," says Laura Ellis of the Pittsburgh convention bureau.
