CMS pushes back enforcement of HIPAA 5010

The CMS Office of E-Health Standards and Services has postponed enforcement of the use of 5010 standards in HIPAA transactions through June 30. "OESS expects that transition statistics will reach 98% industrywide by the end of the enforcement discretion period," the group said in a statement, adding that it would offer increased technical support to organizations.
