Traffic growth due to Gateway Pacific Terminal means good jobs

An increase in rail traffic once the Gateway Pacific Terminal is fully operational would translate into direct and indirect jobs in Bellingham, Wash., as well as in nearby communities, writes Keith Lee. BNSF is expected to provide freight rail service to the terminal. "Gateway Pacific Terminal will provide those jobs: around 4,000 during construction, and over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs when the terminal is operational," according to Lee.
