Yoga meditation reduces caregiver depression, study shows

Family members who care for loved ones with dementia found that a daily yoga meditation program helped reduce depression and improved their mental health, researchers wrote in the Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry. The study from the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior also found meditation improved participants' telomerase activity, which could offer added protection from health problems that can be a problem for stressed caregivers.
