Calif. high-school students devote a day to helping others

Students from Aquinas High School in San Bernardino, Calif., spent a recent day outside the classroom for the school's third annual Day of Community Service. Students volunteered at the animal shelter, community and senior centers, among other sites. "They get out of their normal environment," said teacher Ray Reyes, "and they see what's going on in other places and how they can help."
