Microsoft hopes to build out Windows stores with $100-an-app offer

Microsoft is offering developers $100 an application up to $2,000 for Windows Store and Windows Phone Store apps. The promotion runs through the end of June. But each app has to be substantially unique: "[Y]ou can't publish the same basic app 10 times, changing a button or other minor tweak and republishing it as a different app," Keith Ward writes.
