Ohio high school embraces 26 Acts of Kindness campaign

The 800 students in Mason High School's freshman class in Ohio last week aimed to perform one act of kindness per student, per day for five days. By the middle of the fourth day, students had performed 3,483 acts of kindness, inspired by television journalist Ann Curry's tweet encouraging people to do 26 acts of kindness in honor of people killed during the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. "This has gone beyond my wildest expectations," said Jerry Schrock, a social studies teacher who spearheaded the effort that has included notes of encouragement to fellow students, charity work and helping out family and neighbors.
