St. Patrick's Day means profits for Irish eateries and bars

St. Patrick's Day may be a minor holiday for most of the country, but the day brings big business for Irish-themed bars and restaurants. About one-third of U.S. consumers are expected to celebrate the holiday at pubs and restaurant. At Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Alehouse in Boulder County, Colo., 1,000 patrons are expected to consume 12 kegs of Guinness and hundreds of pounds of corned beef and cabbage today.
