Blood test can detect rejection of transplanted kidney

A new molecular blood test uses RNA genetic markers to detect signs of renal failure following a kidney transplant. The test, which can identify kidney failure weeks before clinical symptoms manifest, can serve as a safer alternative to a renal biopsy, which can lead to graft injury or loss or bleeding, according to Quest Diagnostics.
