WhatsApp could try to boost revenue with gaming focus

Mobile messaging company WhatsApp appears to be prepping a games platform by entering into discussions on a deal with WeMade in South Korea. "At this point, it's not clear whether the company has approached or signed deals with other games makers," Jon Russell writes. A games network could be a good alternative monetizing strategy for WhatsApp, which has called advertising "an insult to your intelligence and interruption of your train of thought," Russell writes.
