J&J Expected To Beat Rivals With Release Of Drug-Coated Stents

Johnson & Johnson yesterday unveiled new data that show its antibiotic-coated stent prevents heart arteries from reclogging after 12 months of implantation. The company's Cordis unit is expected to market the device by 2003, six months before its rivals release their solutions. Doctors say the device will help patients needing a repeat procedure.
