Wis. lawmakers approve 49 road, bridge projects for stimulus funding

Wisconsin lawmakers this week approved spending $42.4 million in economic-stimulus funds on 49 road and bridge projects in the state. The state will receive a total of $529 million from the federal stimulus package for work on roads and bridges. Lawmakers have already approved spending nearly $300 million on highway projects. Construction on the first round of projects will start this spring.
