Ala. mayor draws criticism with stadium proposal

Birmingham, Ala., Mayor William Bell is facing criticism from the City Council after he announced a desire to build a domed stadium. While Bell says the stadium would rely on a combination of private and public funds, councilors say they are skeptical about getting enough private donors to commit to the project, and some say their concern stems from other projects that were never completed.
