Barry Diller's Aereo service, which captures broadcast TV signals and provides them over the Internet, is attempting to fit a particular legal niche in obeying regulations even while it upsets the model those rules were designed for, writes David Carr. Diller says he sees no problem with the Aereo business model, but broadcasters are challenging it in court. "It is clear that the whole premise of Aereo is to make money off the back of the hundreds of millions of dollars we invest in programming," said CBS' Les Moonves.
