Gut-directed group hypnosis helps IBS patients, study says

Research from the Medical University of Vienna found patients with refractory irritable bowel syndrome who had gut-directed group hypnosis saw improvements in abdominal pain as well as alleviation of other symptoms. The study authors said guidelines recommend the treatment, but a shortage of therapists limits its availability, and group sessions could improve access and reduce costs.
